TV Advert Evaluation

The brief was to make an advert advertising a uni-leaver product. The product my group chose to do an advert based off the product magnum. We chose to do this because collectively as a group we wanted to do magnum because we all liked magnum as a brand and as a product. The current target audience for Magnum is woman 24+ and upper-class in a prezi I found on google (https://prezi.com/cmot05ysd29h/magnum/) but my group has developed a target audience will be teenagers and young adults from middle class and working class backgrounds. This is because my group saw a potential target audience in them and the fact that our group are all teenagers who eat magnum's.

We collected the feedback from our survey from a website called surveymonkey. From this survey we can come to the conclusion that people liked our advert and would generally buy more magnum's after seeing our advert. I think this advert got our message across as seen in our survey, getting more people to buy magnums. I think the advert used mise-en-scene, camera-work, editing and its use of sound/sound effects were good in the advert. I especially liked the use of sound effects including the computer virus sound and the crunch on the magnum at the end. I also thought the advert looked very smooth. I think the advert does a very good job at selling our product based the narrative ans story of our advert based on the responses from our survey shown to the right of this. We used a floating magnum in our advert to persuade our audience in my opinion, that was the main push of our advert. I think this technique showing what was in the magnum will persuade our audience to go and buy some from stores. From this advert I wanted to tell teen audiences that you can have magnums but just not lots of them because you will develop health risks. Overall I think this magnum advert meet it's purpose, I think it meet all the elements of the ASA code (Advertising Standard Authority) and we followed most of their main codes.

Overall I think we pretty much meet my intentions of this advert we had before we started shooting. We aimed to make an effective persuasive advert and we did. We followed our storyboard accurately and our feedback supports this seen in our survey we carried out. I am personally satisified with the advert but if I was to do it again I would have had a little more to do with production and have more of my ideas heard.
