Still Image Connotations Task

Still Image Connotations Task

Loneliness

This is a wide shot of my dog. He is alone staring into the abyss, as seen in the photo. I really like the contrast in this photo with the shadow and light from my garage.

Vulnerability

This is a high angle medium shot of my dog again. The way I've positioned my camera makes my dog look afraid. I like how centered i managed to make my dog in this photo but I think i could have done better with the lighting because of the square shadow the right side of the photo.

Friendship

I like this photo because i don't think they knew i took it! Although I think this was a good thing because it caught the 'rawness' of the word/phrase friendship. I like how I've used the rule of thirds by having one person in each third of the photo and i like how light the photo is (unedited).

Fear

You needed to be there to understand how scary this dog was. He was barking and jumping and it was all around scary. I like how i managed to catch the dog running mid-sprint but I do wish i had the shutter speed lower to catch a little bit more detail.

Strength

Although I'm not very strong I do like how Luke took the snapshot of my with such a low angle It shows at that point I was superior to the others at that point and I really like the depth of field in this shot.

Desire

I like this extreme wide-shot. It stretches the meaning of desire but I believe it could clearly show it. I like how there are 3 layers in this photo; grass, model, objects e.g. pitch, house and the church top. I like the tone and the texture in this photo although it was wide but I do think a noticeable shadow would have made this photo perfect.
